Frequently Asked Questions

How frequent are the sessions?
Most students attend once a week during term time, though some prefer twice weekly as exams approach or when working on specific goals. I also offer small group sessions, workshops, and intensive holiday sessions when needed. I’m happy to discuss what frequency will best support your child’s needs and my online booking system provides great flexibility.

What do the sessions cost?
Prices vary depending on whether your child is in a one-to-one session, small group, or workshop. Please see the appointments page for prices. As a guide:

  • Small group tuition: £35-40 per hour (up to 5 students, normally 3)

  • One-to-one tuition: £45-£50 per hour

  • Workshops and intensives: prices vary, and details are provided in advance.
Please contact us for a current fee schedule and to discuss what option would suit your family best.

What are your qualifications?
I hold a Master’s degree in Positive Psychology with a focus on wellness and creativity, I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years’ experience, and I am also a qualified solicitor. I have taught and tutored hundreds of students with a track record of excellent results while ensuring learning remains enjoyable and confidence-building. Do you have a DBS check?
Yes, I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and I take safeguarding very seriously. Copies of my safeguarding policies available on request.

Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
Both. Many families enjoy the convenience of online sessions, while others prefer the calm, creative environment of our Great Missenden studio, where therapy dogs can also be present if desired. You are welcome to have a combination of both.

Do you work with neurodivergent students?
Yes. I have extensive experience supporting autistic and ADHD students, as well as those with anxiety or additional learning needs, ensuring sessions are paced and adapted to help each student thrive.

I also have extensive experience in working with students aiming for A* grades and level 9s.

Do you provide exam preparation?
Yes. I offer preparation for 11+, Common Entrance, GCSE, and A-level English and social science subjects, as well as study skills, interview practice, and confidence-building to support students through key transitions.

Can parents attend the sessions?
For younger children, a parent is welcome to stay nearby if it helps your child feel comfortable, though experience has taught me that even nervous children enjoy the independence of working one-to-one. We are flexible and will always work to ensure your child feels safe and supported.

How do we get started?
